Opening acts at shows can be super hit or miss. Sometimes you get lucky, like when Joyce Manor supports Against Me! and you’re an immediate convert. Sometimes it’s less of a party, like when when some random guy, in a suit, with a laptop, from Seattle, opens for Death Cab For Cutie and looks like he’s there to cancel the show instead of start it.
And sometimes you get completely blown away by someone like The So So Glos, and even though you’re there to lose your heart to Say Anything or The Front Bottoms, they get in first. Then they skyrocket into your top ten and completely change your musical landscape. You get the t-shirt, you get the vinyl, you talk to the drummer, you follow them on twitter, you shout about them from all your social platforms. You want to move to Brooklyn, you want to gain an accent, you want to be a brother in a band of brothers. But instead, you listen to Island Ridin’ on repeat until new album Kamikaze gets released on April 13th. That’s less than two months away, guys. It’s within countdown distance. Get excited.
